How the switch works, and how long it takes
Most switches finish in 2 to 3 days. You do two things: check a few subscriptions, then switch over.

We move your subscriptions
Subscription billing stays off in Subrise while we work, so nobody is charged twice. Set up your plans, product widget and customer portal meanwhile.
Before you switch
Check a few
Open several subscriptions in Subrise and compare them with your old app: products, price, frequency, next billing date and payment method.
Switch-over day
Switch over
Cancel the subscriptions in your old app, then turn billing on. Subrise bills each one on its next billing date.

What to have ready
- The name of the app you use today, and admin access to it.
- Roughly how many active and paused subscriptions you have.
- Whether you sell prepaid subscriptions.
- Where your old app stores customers' cards: in Shopify, or with its own processor.
- When your next large batch of orders is due.
Payment methods
Subrise doesn't copy card numbers. Each migrated subscription uses a payment method that Shopify already stores for the customer.
If your old app stores cards with its own processor, such as Stripe or Braintree, Shopify doesn't hold those cards. Tell us on the call so we can plan for it.
Questions about switching
How long does a migration take?
Usually 2 to 3 days from the first call. You set up your plans, the product widget and the customer portal while our team moves your subscriptions, then you check a few and switch over.
Do my customers have to sign up again?
No. Our team moves their subscriptions to Subrise, and each one keeps its products, price, frequency and next billing date.
Could a customer be charged twice?
Not if each subscription is active in exactly one app. Turn off subscription billing in Subrise until you have cancelled every migrated subscription in your old app, then turn it back on.
What happens to my customers' cards?
Subrise doesn't copy card numbers. Each migrated subscription uses a payment method Shopify already stores for the customer. If your old app keeps cards with its own processor, such as Stripe or Braintree, tell us so we can plan for it.
