Getting started
What Subrise does, how its parts fit together, and the steps to go from install to your first subscriber.
Subrise is a Shopify app for selling subscriptions. It runs inside your Shopify admin, uses Shopify's own checkout, and charges renewals on the schedule you set.
How Subrise works
Subrise has four parts. You set up the first two, and customers use the last two.
| Part | What it does | Where you set it up |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription plans | Set how often customers are charged and receive an order, and the discount they get. | Plans in the Subrise admin |
| Product widget | Shows the subscription options on your product pages. | Your theme editor |
| Checkout | Customers pick a subscription option and pay at Shopify's checkout. | Nothing to set up |
| Customer portal | Customers skip, pause, swap variants and update their details. | Your theme editor and Settings > Customer portal |
After the first order, Subrise charges each renewal on its billing date and creates the order in Shopify. You manage every subscription under Subscriptions in the Subrise admin.
Where to find things in the admin
