Subscriptions list

Find any subscription in Subrise with status views, search, sorting and filters, export subscriptions to CSV, and create a subscription by hand.

The Subscriptions page lists every subscription in your store. Use it to find a customer's subscription, see what's renewing soon, and follow up on failed charges.

Open it from Subscriptions in the Subrise menu.

Metrics

The card above the table shows four numbers. They follow your search and filters.

  • Renewing, twice: how many subscriptions renew in a short window (next day, 3, 5 or 7 days) and a longer one (this month, next month or the next 3 months). Click the period to change it.
  • Active subscriptions: subscriptions that are active right now. In the Prepaid view this reads Prepaid subscriptions.
  • Failing subscriptions: subscriptions with a failed charge.

Status views

The tabs above the table switch between views:

ViewShows
All activeActive subscriptions, soonest next billing date first.
AllEvery subscription, whatever its status.
UpcomingActive subscriptions, soonest next billing date first. Combine it with the Next billing date filter to see what renews soon.
PrepaidPrepaid subscriptions and gift subscriptions, with the next shipment, shipments remaining and the date they're prepaid through.
PausedPaused subscriptions. The date column shows when each one resumes, or Paused indefinitely.
ExpiredSubscriptions that reached their last billing cycle.
CancelledCancelled subscriptions, with the date they were cancelled.
Failed chargesSubscriptions with a failed charge that hasn't been paid since, with the error, the next retry date and the last successful order.

In most views the date column shows the next billing date. When a charge has failed, it shows Failed with the date in red, and the Retry date under it.

Search, sort and filter

  • Search: type a customer name, email, product or subscription ID.
  • Sort by: choose a field and direction, such as Next billing date (soonest first) or Total (highest first). The choices depend on the view.
  • Next billing date: pick a preset, such as Next 7 days or Next month, or a custom range on the calendar. In the Prepaid view this filters by Next shipment instead.
  • Price: set a Minimum total, a Maximum total, or both.
  • Products and Plans: tick the products or plans to include.
  • In the Prepaid view, a status menu narrows the list to Active, Completed or Paused.

Click Clear filters to remove every filter. Your search, view and filters stay in the page address, so you can bookmark a filtered list or share it with your team. Coming back from a subscription returns you to the same list.

Click any row to open the subscription page.

Export subscriptions

Export saves every subscription in the current view, search and filters as a CSV file, across all pages.

  1. Set up the view, search and filters you want.
  2. Click Export in the title bar.
  3. Choose Subscriptions (one row per subscription, with customer and shipping details) or Line items (one row per product on each subscription).
  4. Click Export.

For report-style exports and scheduled emails, see Reports.

Create a subscription

You can create a subscription for an existing customer, charged to a card they already have on file. This is useful when a customer asks you to sign them up by phone or email.

  1. Click Create subscription in the title bar.
  2. If you sell bundle subscriptions, choose Regular subscription or Bundle subscription.
  3. In Customer, search by name or email and pick the customer.
  4. Choose the Payment method to charge, then click Next.
  5. Choose the Plan, the Product and the Next billing date. The customer is first charged on that date.
  6. Tick Email the customer to send your New subscription email. Leave it unticked to create the subscription quietly.
  7. Click Create subscription.

The new subscription opens when it's ready. Add more products, add-ons or discounts from there.

Note

The customer needs a saved payment method from an earlier checkout. Subrise can't take card details in the admin.

Creating subscriptions needs a plan that includes advanced subscription controls. If yours doesn't, the button reads Upgrade to create subscriptions and opens your Subrise plan.
